Support for the Logitech Driving Force Pro and GT Force steering wheels is continued from Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. Other "PC" steering wheels previously (and unofficially) supported in GT3 were explicitly disabled for GT4. - Gran Turismo
Perhaps the worst aspect of Gran Turismo 2, oddly enough, is the existence of Gran Turismo. Given the success of the original, the game's developers probably had no wish to fix anything that wasn't broken - and preferred to build on the successful formula by adding more cars, car makers, and features, such as the rally mode. Fans of the original and those looking for a pure driving simulation should flock to store shelves without delay, but for the rest, that add-on philosophy may not sit well. Once again, you will have to slog through the prerequisite license tests - not a tough chore, but many of the tests are clones of the original. Wouldn't it have been better to offer instead some sort of "pass/fail" racing school, with a different variety of tests? Also, the game has one night course, but the developers neglected to add weather variables such as rain, ice patches, snow, or fog that might have added a twist to the racing conditions. - Gran Turismo -- Gran Turismo Hd
Gran Turismo is the most popular racing sim series, with 5 editions released on the PlayStation (part 1 and 2 on the PS1, the rest on PS2). So many race game fans are waiting for Gran Turismo HD for the PS3 (or whatever the name will be, probably just "Gran Turismo 5"). Its release date is not known yet, but luckily Sony has released a playable demo. Freely downloadable on your PS3, through the PlayStation Store. And it looks like GT5 is going to be a top game again. - Gran Turismo -- Gran Turismo 4
With authentic cars, courses, and car physics, Gran Turismo 4 adds an even more realistic racing simulation to the series. Test-drive new vehicles in courses located in various sites, such as New York City, the Grand Canyon, and Tsukuba Circuit. The PSP version of Gran Turismo 4 lets you race against your friends via wireless network. - Turismo -- Gran Turismo
In addition to the awards ceremony, guests of the 2007 Gran Turismo Awards were treated to a special performance by one of today's hottest singer songwriters, Chris Cornell. Kazunori Yamauchi recently previewed Gran Turismo 5 Prologue at the Games Convention 2007 in Leipzig. He dished out a number of new details that will no doubt get fans of the series excited. - Gran Turismo -- Polyphony Digital
The Asian releases of Gran Turismo 4, like its previous releases, feature the theme song "Moon Over the Castle", composed by Polyphony Digital's Masahiro Andoh, during the opening. The North American release replaces part of Andoh's composition with an edited version of Van Halen's "Panama". The European release features "Reason Is Treason" by Kasabian. - Gran Turismo -- Cars
While Gran Turismo prides itself on its looks and sounds, its strongest feature by far is its realistic control and car physics, which goes back to the immense variety of cars. Attempting the same turn at the same speed, a four-wheel-drive car will control differently than a front- or rear-wheel-drive car. Now, factor in the different acceleration rates for each car, based on its horsepower - then consider that cars can be upgraded with new parts that alter their horsepower. In total, each car offers a unique driving experience based on its real-life statistics. Veterans will learn that groups of cars with similar stats will tend to drive in the same fashion, but the preponderance of variables translates into ultimate replay value - a huge plus for hard-core racing-simulation fans. However, it ... means a steep, almost intimidating learning curve - a tough pill for casual racing fans to swallow. - Gran Turismo -- Games
Gran Turismo (commonly abbreviated to GT or GT1) is a racing game designed by Kazunori Yamauchi. Gran Turismo was developed by Polyphony Digital and first published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 1997 for the PlayStation video game console. It was well-received publicly and critically, selling 2,550,000 in Japan, 10,000 in Southeast Asia, 4,300,000 in Europe, and 3,990,000 in North America as of December 2007,[1] and scoring an average of 95% in GameRankings' aggregate. The game has started a series, and to date has spawned over 10 spinoffs and sequels. - Turismo -- Turismo Hd
The first glimpse of the series on PlayStation 3, Gran Turismo HD Concept is a series of downloadable samplers of Gran Turismo based on GT4 but running on an early version of the GT5 engine. As described by producer Kazunori Yamauchi, the first Concept is a first-look at the high definition graphics provided by the PlayStation 3. The second Concept download includes Polyphony's next generation driving engine.
