Gran Turismo: Gran Turismo Hd
built 210 days ago
Gran Turismo HD [PlayStation 3] Gran Turismo is the most popular racing sim series, with 5 editions released on the PlayStation (part 1 and 2 on the PS1, the rest on PS2). So many race game fans are waiting for Gran Turismo HD for the PS3 (or whatever the name will be, probably just "Gran Turismo 5"). Its release date is not known yet, but luckily Sony has released a playable demo. Freely downloadable on your PS3, through the PlayStation Store. And it looks like GT5 is going to be a top game again.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is on the home straight and soon to arrive on PLAYSTATION 3. With stunningly realistic HD graphics, online races and the most accurate physics yet seen in a racing simulator, there’s never been anything quite like it.
Upon downloading Gran Turismo HD Concept, PS3 users have access to the Eiger Nordwand course and can compete in Time Trial races to collect and unlock new cars. Upon unlocking the initial 10 cars, the player has access to 10 more "Tuned Cars," as well as access to a new driving mode called "Drift Trial."
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue , an intense precursor to Gran Turismo™5, features over 60 meticulously detailed vehicles from manufacturers such as Ferrari , Audi and Nissan. Users will experience the vehicle-specific physics technology and intricate graphical rendering that Polyphony Digital is renowned for. Additionally, for the first time in the history of the franchise, users can race online -- at 60 fps (frames per second) in stunning 1080p HD -- with up to 16 vehicles at a time on beautifully rendered tracks from around the globe, including Daytona International Speedway® and a London City track.

After the recent release of Gran Turismo HD Concept to the Playstation Store last week, Polyphony Digital have updated the Japanese site with more images of the game. There are a total of 21 new screenshots, all of which are below. Enjoy!
The latest installment in the Gran Turismo series will be called Gran Turismo: HD. Sony is really pushing the high resolution aspect of the PS3, so look for more titles to use the "HD" moniker. GT:HD will be released in two installments: the first will be "Classic" and will hit shelves in time for the PS3 launch. Coming later will be the "Premium" edition that will use more advanced graphics technology and be essentially a preview for the "proper" GT5, which is scheduled for release in 2008.
