Graduation songs can have many themes. Some can be self-created, while others can be inspired by themes given online. Graduation songs can be group or individual songs. Though they are college specific and change from year to year, there are certain songs that have withstood the test of the time. These songs have become a must for any graduation party and are almost universal. Their universality can be proven by the fact that they are listed among the most popular graduation songs such as the album "Vitamin C" recorded in 1999 by Colleen Fitzpatrick, as a solo artist and ... graduation songs from "A Chorus Line" and "Wicked."

Graduation rates are influenced by a variety of factors. Students who transfer in or transfer out of an institution are not included in the graduation rate. Students who start full-time, and are included in the initial tracking cohort, may subsequently enroll part-time; prolonging their time to completion. In general, institutions which are more selective in whom they enroll have higher graduation rates than institutions that are not very selective.

Graduation statistics should be clear, accurate, and comparable across schools, districts, and states. Graduation rate information should be used to inform decision-making and to improve policy and practice around strengthening student outcomes. For those statistics to be valuable, NCLB needs to ensure that educators and policymakers actually know how many students are graduating. This is a critical indicator of high school quality.

Following graduation, Maguire served in VISTA, teaching English as a second language, collecting songs, making field recordings and publishing a songbook for teachers and children of migrant workers in western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming. In 1974, Maguire had a chance meeting with Garrison Keillor which led to 10 years of regular appearances on public radio’s A Prairie Home Companion. Maguire co-wrote Mesabi Red, which chronicled a 1916 miners’ strike on Minnesota’s Iron Range and he composed the music for Orphan Train, which looked at the trainloads of immigrant orphan children that made their way from the slums of New York to Minnesota at the turn of the century. In 1995, Maguire became the “Singing Ranger” for the National Park Service. He ... was appointed the official “Centennial Troubadour” for Minnesota State Parks. He has four albums currently in print and another on the way.
