Graduation: Graduation Ceremonies

Graduation ceremonies are held once a year with the conclusion of the spring semester, usually in May. Students who finish their degree in the fall semester will receive their degree immediately and are invited to walk in commencement exercises the following May.

Graduation ceremonies will take place this year at the North Peace Arena on Friday, June 29th, 2007. More to follow. All graduation information is kept in the Graduation category always available on the right hand side of the site.

Under the regulations of the University, degrees are conferred and diplomas are presented in person or in absentia at Graduation Ceremonies within twelve months following completion of the requirements for the qualification concerned. Candidates undertaking a further qualification, or wishing to complete the requirements for a further major subject in a degree, may apply in writing to the Group Leader, Graduation, for permission to defer having the qualification awarded.

If you have graduated in absentia, your certificate will be posted to the address given on your graduation form and you should expect to receive it 6 - 8 weeks after the ceremonies have finished. If you did not complete a graduation form you will need to contact the Exams Team to make arrangements for collection (tel: 0115 846 7331).

Students who have met graduation standards may take part in graduation ceremonies. The parents of students who experience scholastic difficulty sufficient to endanger graduation will be notified as soon as the situation becomes apparent. Periodic updates of progress will be given to the parents until the difficulty is resolved.
