Google News continues to host ChronWatch, among other nutty non-news services. ChronWatch, from all appearances, is three or four angry bloggers who hate the San Francisco Chronicle and think it's funny that Rachel Corrie got run over.

Introduced as a beta release in April 2002, the Google News service came out of beta on 23 January 2006. Different versions of the aggregator are available for more than 20 regions in 12 languages, with continuing development ongoing. Currently, service in the following languages is offered: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese (traditional and simplified characters), Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Arabic, Hebrew, Norwegian, Czech and Swedish.

Microdoc News has reexamined size and freshness of Google by analyzing its own pages at Google, Teoma and Alltheweb. It found that Teoma and Alltheweb have not begun to index the new Microdoc web site that was launched two months ago. Google has, but it ... has a large number of the old pages. The tricky part is that Google seems to have indexed 643 pages but says it has 1,270. Microdoc News claims it doesn't have that many. Why the difference?
