Google France has lost an intellectual property dispute after a French court ruled that they may not allow advertisers to tie their text notices to trademarked search terms. Two travel agencies Luteciel and Viaticum sued Google, after the search engine refused to stop the use of the words in question in AdWords. The disputed words are ‘bourse des vols’ and ‘bourse des voyages’, over which the travel firms claim trademark rights.
