The GolfServ Advantage Team Championship is an exciting, handicap competition open to all members of the more than 35 GolfServ Advantage golf clubs who have a USGA Handicap Index. Golfers play as teams in a series of weekly qualifying tournaments to win gift certificates and qualify to play in annual club championships. Club championship winners earn the chance to compete in the Grand Championship, where a grand-prize trip for two to Scotland awaits.

Golf courses have not always had eighteen holes. The St Andrews Links occupy a narrow strip of land along the sea. As early as the 15th century, golfers at St Andrews, in Fife, established a customary route through the undulating terrain, playing to holes whose locations were dictated by topography. The course that emerged featured eleven holes, laid out end to end from the clubhouse to the far end of the property. One played the holes out, turned around, and played the holes in, for a total of 22 holes. In 1764, several of the holes were deemed too short, and were therefore combined.

The Golf Fitness Lab ... conducts a golf specific fitness evaluation focused on strength, flexibility and balance. Combining a golfer's fitness and swing data determined inside the simulator, the Golf Fitness Lab staff then formulates a list of specific exercises intended to improve the golfer's golf conditioning. The program allows the golfer to increase his or her swing stability, torso rotation and rotational speeds, and to improve clubhead and ball velocity, resulting in distance increases of almost 20 yards.

The team entry fee is $20 to register to play 18 holes, and a team may register to play as many rounds as they like in the same weekly competition. -- Immediately following the round, team captains post player scores, indicating the name of the golf course and the tee box. -- Players' gross scores are posted routinely to maintain a player's USGA Handicap Index. -- Matrix Scores(TM) that are in contention will appear on the GolfServ Advantage club's Leaderboard and may appear on the National Leaderboard. Matrix Scores(TM) are rounded to three decimal places to virtually eliminate ties.

The Heads of Agreement between the Bahamian Government and the Developer behind Albany Golf & Beach Club will be signed today at The Cabinet Office in Nassau. Construction of Albany Golf & Beach Club is scheduled to begin immediately with plans for the community to open in the fall of 2008.
