Goldie Hawn was born in Washington, DC in November 1945. She studied drama at the American University but dropped out to dance the can-can at the 1965 World's Fair. She was a go-go dancer before she came to attention playing a ditzy blonde on the top 60s TV show Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In. Occasionally ditzy in real life - she won the best supporting actress Oscar in 1969 for Cactus Flower, but forgot to go - she appears to have made a career out of playing the same part in every film. Few... have managed to be a leading actress for over 20 years and be a successful producer.
