The silent film, starring Gloria Swanson, one of the greatest Hollywood stars of the era, and Rudolph Valentino, the first male sex symbol in film history, was missing for more than 75 years. Only a one-minute fragment of the film survived until catalogers at the Nederlands Filmmuseum discovered reels of the film in 2000.

Swanson made it into the talkies, even singing in Music in the Air, and she hosted a television anthology series, Crown Theatre with Gloria Swanson, in which she occasionally acted. Her last Hollywood movie was Three for Bedroom C in 1952, although she did appear in the Italian movie Mio figlio Nerone. Her last acting role was in the television horror film Killer Bees in 1974, though she ... appeared as herself in the movie Airport 1975 which was also released in 1974.

During her life, Gloria would marry a total of seven times and by the middle of the 1920s it was said that she was the highest paying actress in Hollywood. Gloria managed to keep her fans spellbound for 60 years and at the age of 30 the sound revolution hit Hollywood; Gloria had no trouble at all adapting.
