Perhaps a little-known fact about Glenn Ford, who just died, is that the acclaimed, veteran actor made his last film in Houston. That film was Final Verdict, which was shot in Houston for airing on TNT in 1991. Set in 1919 Los Angeles, the film starred Treat Williams as Earl Rogers, considered one of the great lawyers of his era, with Olivia Burnette, then 13, as his idealistic young daughter (with shades of To Kill a Mockingbird). Ford played Rogers' father, a minister, who had a falling out with him over a case, feeling that lawyers shouldn't defend guilty people.
