Once a month the German department will sponsor a talk given by various faculty of the German department, faculty from outside the department, and/or students majoring in German. The colloquium will be in room 239 and will begin at 4:00 PM. Following the talk there will be a question-answer period and a casual reception.

The German Department offers tutors free of charge to students enrolled in German at PCC. The tutors are located in the open study area in the basement of CT. They are identified with a sign that reads "Deutsch."

The German Department provides its students with a thorough training in German language and culture, enabling them to interact freely and easily with German native speakers in all areas of linguistic competency. Students will acquire a fundamental understanding of the major cultural, social, and historical forces that have shaped German society, including significant developments in German literature, as well as the basic skills required for cultural and intercultural analysis.

Under the contract, CDT is working with Fujitsu Siemens Computers GmbH to deploy CDT's software and hardware for a key department of the German government. Thus far, CDT has secured orders in several of the sixteen German states. Software and hardware installation under existing orders is expected to commence in the second half of 2008 and possibly continue into early 2009.
