The Office of Advancement of the George Washington University, a private, urban institution located in Washington, DC, is seeking an individual to fill the position of Executive Associate, School Programs. The individual will report to the Associate Vice President for Advancement, School Programs.

Earlier this month, George Washington was identified as one of the schools targeted for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's gift of $289,500. The money, intended to create seven unique small high schools in the city, will be used at Washington to plan an "early college high school", providing students with dual high school and college credit. A partnership with Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis was instrumental in getting the formerly closed school reopened, and IUPUI continues to work with the school in this initiative, as well as with some 19 other programs.
Dr. Nunley’s professional educational preparation includes a Ph.D. from George Washington University in Educational Policy Studies, a M.Ed. degree in Higher Education from Pennsylvania State University, and a B.A. from Penn State in the Psychology Honors Program. She began her career in education as Coordinator of Institutional Research and instructor at Potomac State College of West Virginia University and served as Director of Institutional Research at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland before coming to Montgomery College.

Wendy Jones, MEd, MSW is a research instructor in the Department of Pediatrics, Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. She has been associated with the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development (GUCCHD), University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, for the past 8 years. She is an educator and social worker specializing in advocacy, support, and training for individuals and families for whom English may be a second language and for families of children with developmental, educational, and emotional disabilities. Ms. Jones formerly had primary responsibilities within the Community Services and Clinical Divisions of GUCCHD. Ms. Jones was a member of the GUCCHD’s interdisciplinary team, conducting social work family assessments and devising treatment plans. Currently, Ms. Jones has major responsibility for the coordination of project tasks for all Maternal and Child Health (MCH) projects of the National Center for Cultural Competence including the Children with Special Health Needs project; the MCH Training Branch, Division of Research, Training and Education project; and the Healthy Tomorrows project.

Whitehurst was born and reared in Washington, North Carolina. He was educated in the public schools of Washington, received his undergraduate degree at East Carolina University, and obtained a Ph.D. in experimental child psychology in 1970 from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is married with two children.
