George W. Bush: Lies
built 628 days ago
George W. Bush drilled a lot of dry holes while in the oil and gas industry. But his business failings (it can be a rough business after all) are not what most detractors latch onto in condemning his record - it's perceived conflicts of interest, alledged insider trading, and undue political influence.

To what tasks did the Bush Administration devote its attention in the Spring of 2003? Planning for war's aftermath? No. Instead, Air Force One's in-flight menu was revised to remove references to "French Toast" and to offer "Freedom Toast" instead. That'll show 'em!

Even after that easy stint, Bush couldn't fulfill his obligation. He quickly made up the missed days he had to and applied for an early release, before he had to take his next annual physical exam (with drug test.) While the official discharge date was October 1, 1973, Bush's last day in uniform was actually July 31 -- a full 10 months before the end of his 6-year, part time commitment. Al Gore ... requested and received an early discharge (from the Army, in his case) to go to school.

Bush's cabinet included the largest number of minorities of any U.S. federal cabinet to date, including the first two Asian-American federal cabinet secretaries (Chao and Mineta). This gives it the distinction of being both the most racially diverse, and, according to the Guinness Book of Records, the wealthiest cabinet ever.

Beginning Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. tickets and wristbands will be given out to customers who purchase copies of "Ana's Story" for Bush to sign. The tickets will be given out on a first come, first serve basis and will hold each person's place in line. Line tickets will be numbered and the line will be organized by numeric order. Announcements will be made when each group can line up. Wristbands will be used to identify customers as part of the Bush event. Borders cannot guarantee that all customers with line tickets and wristbands will have the opportunity to meet Bush and obtain an autograph.

Bush's tough-on-the-Constitution Attorney General John Ashcroft has been publicly mocking librarians for their opposition to provisions of the Patriot Act. Substance aside, that's just plain stupid. Didn't Mr. Ashcroft learn anything in school? Unless you're itching for trouble you should never, ever, mock a librarian.
