Soros was thirteen years old when Nazi Germany took military control over its wavering ally Hungary (March 19, 1944), and started exterminating Hungarian Jews [1] in the Holocaust. Tivadar gave his children false identities and paid Hungarian Christians to present the children as their own. George posed as Sandor Kiss, the adopted godson of a man named Baufluss, who was an official in the fascist government. In this role, he accompanied Baufluss, who delivered deportation notices to Jews and confiscated their property. Soros's critics contend that this event is an indicator of the quality of his morality. [2]

Soros went off on his own in 1973, founding the hedge fund company of Soros Fund Management, which eventually evolved into the well-known and respected Quantum Fund. For almost two decades, he ran this aggressive and successful hedge fund, reportedly racking up returns in excess of 30% per year and, on two occasions, posting annual returns of more than 100%.

Soros, in the following interview with Charlie Rose, seems to identify with Noam Chomsky. Chomsky is mentioned by Rose, then, a little further on, Soros uses a Chomsky-like expression, "manufacture truth". Chomsky wrote a book named The Manufacture of Consent.
