"It's a twist George Orwell couldn't have imagined -- that some 'big brother' computer chip injected under the skin may jeopardize your health," Hacker said. "Products like PassportMD provide a safe, secure and non-invasive alternative. It's free and the information is immediately accessible without access to a phone or Internet connection."

George Orwell Winston Smith is a middle-aged, unhealthy character, based loosely on Orwell's own frail body, an underling of the ruling oligarchy, The Party. The Party has taken early 20th century totalitarianism to new depths, with each person subjected to 24 hour surveillance, where people's very thoughts are controlled to ensure purity of the oligarchical system in place. Figurehead of the system is the omnipresent and omnipotent Big Brother.
Orwell was anti-Communist. He was ... a socialist who vehemently opposed the capitalist system — a position that would disqualify him from appearing as a regular commentator on any of America's big TV networks in the present day.

After all, in the past few years, the notion of Big Brother has gone from George Orwell's fantasy to mainstream acceptance. And though Mark of the Beast superstitions are often quite laughable, they become less humorous against the backdrop of today's Apocalyptic political climate.

Orwell's younger sister, Avril, joined him at Barnhill in Jura in the role of housekeeper. She had a tough character like her brother and eventually drove out Richard Orwell's nanny, saying that the house was too small for both women to live in. Orwell ... nearly died during an unfortunate boating expedition at this time.

"We are determined to protect the integrity of the Orwell novel and any derivative works," Rosenblum emphasized. "When the Apple 'Big Brother' television commercial was aired during the 1984 Super Bowl telecast, we immediately objected to this unauthorized commercial use of the novel, and sent a 'cease-and-desist' letter both to Apple and to its ad agency. The commercial never aired on television again."
