Rush has three other films heading for cinema screens - he plays Leon Trotsky in the Frida Kahlo biopic Frida, the father of a champion swimmer in Swimming Upstream, and Superintendent Hare in Ned Kelly. He particularly enjoyed returning to his home state of Queensland to make Swimming Upstream with director Russell Mulcahy.
