Hooter's Leaving Bodine as sponsor: Hooters Racing will end their sponsorship of the Brett Bodine Racing #11 NASCAR Winston Cup team at the end of June. After being the primary sponsor for most of the 2002 season and the first half of this season, Hooters' last event with the team will be the Sirius Satellite Radio 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 15th.

Bodine does have a diversion in his life. He has designed, engineered and built bobsleds that were so good at the last Winter Olympics that his sleds took the silver and bronze medals in the four-man competition. It was the first time since 1956 that an American had won a bobsled medal.

Bodine held off the final lap charges of Kyle Busch (No. 51 NOS Energy Drink Toyota) and Johnny Benson (No. 23 Toyota Certified Used Vehicles Toyota) to win the Feb. 15 Chevy Silverado 250 and join elder brother Geoffrey as a winner at the World Center of Racing.

Bodine won the First Union 400 Sunday by less than a second over Darrell Waltrip. But the closest call came more than an hour after the checkered flag fell, when NASCAR officials told them the win would stand.NASCAR officials said Monday that they rechecked the scoring just after the race ended and concluded that Bodine was indeed the winner. There was no question about that.
