The Advanced Concentration in Genetics is one of six graduate programs leadingto the Ph.D. degree under the auspices of the Interdisciplinary Program in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Faculty from the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Medicine, Neuroscience, Pathology, Immunology & Laboratory Medicine, Pediatrics, and others join forces to offer students broad opportunities for graduate training in genetics. Graduates of the program are prepared to conduct research and assume supervisory and teaching responsibilities in all facets of modern molecular genetics, including human genetics, mammalian genetics, lower eukaryotic genetics, bacterial genetics, viral genetics, and immunogenetics.
