1. Teresa Wright -- Pride
   Wright was ... nominated in the best-actress category in 1942 for her endearing performance as baseball great Lou Gehrig's loving wife, Eleanor, in The Pride of the Yankees. She lost that award to her Mrs. Miniver (AA) costar Greer Garson, but she won the supporting actress Oscar despite having competition from yet another Mrs. Miniver cast member, Dame May Whitty, who played her grandmother. Carol Beldon and Eleanor Gehrig were, respectively, Wright's second and third film roles. She was also nominated for an Oscar for her movie debut as Alexandra, the sweet, surprisingly spirited daughter of cold, ruthless Regina Giddens (Bette Davis) in The Little Foxes (1941). Wright starred in several other notable films in the 1940s and 1950s but later worked primarily on the stage.
2. Gary Cooper -- Man
   One year later, Cooper scored in another film biography, Pride of the Yankees. As baseball great Lou Gehrig, the actor was utterly convincing (despite the fact that he'd never played baseball and wasn't a southpaw like Gehrig), and left few dry eyes in the audiences with his fade-out luckiest man on the face of the earth speech.
3. Jack Holt -- Ralph Graves
   Jack Holt died of a heart attack on Jan. 18, 1951. Actor. His remains are at the Los Angeles National Cemetery ( Section 107, Row A, Grave 19 ) in Los Angeles, CA.
4. Rilutek -- Market
   In clinical trials, Rilutek extended survival in people with ALS for about three months, although it wasn't shown to improve symptoms or slow muscle deterioration. Company representatives from RPR appeared before the panel to present data and argue that Rilutek should be recommended for approval by the FDA - a necessary step before any drug can be marketed.
5. Derek Jeter -- Team
   Derek Jeter has always been an asset to the NY Yankees, in more ways then being their shortstop. Besides he skill and dedication, he sets the example and is a true inspiration for the young athletes of today through his playing skills and the promotion of teamwork amongst the players.
6. James Woods -- Episodes
   James Woods steals Peter’s identity and starts living out his life. In order to re-gain what was stolen from him an epic battle between the two foes ensues. Due to the writer’s strike, the last episode was broadcast Sun, Jan 13.
7. David Niven -- Friends
   Between films, David Niven took the time to relax in Château d'Oex near Gstaad, where he would meet with his many fellow Englishmen, such as his friends Peter Ustinov and Graham Greene who were ... living in Switzerland. He also met with Roger Moore at the Eagle Club in Gstaad.
8. 1936 -- World
   Mel Ott hit a bases-loaded shot at Lou Gehrig in the first inning of game six of the 1936 World Series. The Giants scored two runs in the frame to get off to an early lead, but the Yankees put seven tallies across in the top of the ninth to sew up the Series.
