Gay Parents: Issues
built 291 days ago
[I]t's true that lots of those that are opposed to gay foster-parenting are unwilling (or unable) to be foster parents themselves. This may be because they have already taken in family members, are caring for aged parents, are seriously involved in other charitable causes or may have other stage of life issues that keep them from being foster parents. They may recognize that there is a need or principle that they believe in but they do not have the physical ability or financial resources to do anything other than stand up for their heart-felt belief.

The Philadelphia Gay News unveils its first-ever "Pink Penny" awards in this week's issue, a feature that apparently celebrates the best of Philadelphia in approximately 5,000 categories. It took the paper this long to figure out that if you do a "Best Of" issue, there's a chance other newspapers will write about you, therefore getting you attention.
Among other issues, the Stephens Media polling found a solid majority -- 62 percent -- oppose allowing gay people to be foster parents. That, sadly, is another believable result in the poll. And, as you'll see, Mike Beebe doesn't intend to get left on this issue.
