Gauntlet Ii

The new Gauntlet Series II delivers the field-tested performance of the original Gauntlet while including many new features previously found only on more expensive presses. With a 16" x 18" print area and both 8 and 10-color capacity, the Gauntlet Series II is more versatile than any other press in its class. It is engineered with a servo-driven indexer that allows the press to instantly "ramp" up to speed, resulting in smooth operation and unsurpassed, precise indexing control. The press ... includes M&R’s exclusive Revolver Print Program (Patent No. 5,595,113) that permits multiple flashing with just one flash unit. It is all operated by a sophisticated, easy-to-use operator interface with "plain language" programming and diagnostics. The new Gauntlet Series II can be used with pre-registration systems including pin, and is fully compatible with M&R’s Tri-loc pre-registration system.
Gauntlet Legends maintains the same basic action format as Gauntlet and Gauntlet II. Up to four human players can enter the labyrinth of monsters and traps. Working through each maze requires brute strength to take down the horde of monsters. It ... demands some wits -- certain walls are breakable, and conceal important switches or artifacts. Simply fighting to the exit would be difficult enough, even if you didn't have to find the runes and obelisks.
Unfortunately, What Gauntlet II doesn't have are the essential additions needed to meet today's expectations. Voice chat support, for example, has been omitted entirely and that makes playing with friends across the 'net a frustrating exercise. An online session ends the moment that somebody quits (which is lame enough already) and it's made even worse by the paucity of communication because you won't see it coming. Of course, this means that players aren't able to join sessions in progress either, and even if they could, they still can't save their place to pick up where they left off should something came up.

The Gauntlet Series II is engineered for fast set-up. It includes a “one-hand” flip-up front screen holder for easy screen loading. An exclusive multi-position pallet mounting system makes pallet changeover quick and easy while an enhanced micro-registration system and calibrated stroke length and squeegee-floodbar adjustments will have you up and printing right away.
The main difference between Gauntlet and Gauntlet II is that each of the four joysticks is tied not to a character class, but just to a color, so each player gets to choose a class freely. And, of course, the title graphic, which shows that the artist had only a vague concept of the world of Tolkien and Dungeons & Dragons: There, elves are taller than humans, not some sort of St. Patricks Day leprechaun.
Added strength and stability are evident throughout the new Gauntlet Series II. Improved pneumatic screen clamps and bolstered screen holders keep the screen secure during printing while powerful pallet arms keep the operation rock-steady. The end result is consistent operation and terrific print quality.
