1. Betty Boop -- Cartoons
   Betty Boop debuted in 1930 as a cabaret singer in an animated short. Her high baby voice and curly hair became her trademark. She is ... known for the garter she wears on her left leg. During the 60s and 70s her cartoons were revived through showings at college town theaters and psychedelic light shows.
2. Executive Privilege -- Bush Administration
   Bush even asserted executive privilege to shield documents from Republican members of Congress that might have helped his own party. The documents sought by Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind., related to the Justice Department's investigation into possible campaign finance violations by the Democratic Party in the 1996 election.

4. Stockings
   Stockings are typically supported in one of three ways. The most common way is to wear a suspender belt (... known as a garter belt) that goes around the waist and drops suspenders that are clipped to the tops of the stockings. The second most common means of support is via 'stay-up' technology, where the inside of the top of the stockings has added to it a band (typically silicone) of elastic but highly tractive material that resists slipping down the thigh. This is considerably less reliable in the sense of assuring that the stockings do not fall down, and depends a great deal on the geometry of the actual leg. Further, the elastic can be uncomfortably tight, leaving red marks and possibly aggravating varicose veins. The least common means of support is the circular elastic garter that is slipped up over the top of the stocking and which is intended to hold the stocking by essentially clamping it to the leg.
5. J. Edgar Hoover
   John Edgar Hoover (January 1, 1895 – May 2, 1972), known popularly as J. Edgar Hoover, was the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States. He founded the present form of the agency, and remained director for 48 years until his death. During his life, Hoover was highly regarded by much of the U.S. public. Since his death various allegations have tarnished this image.
6. Kates Playground
   In one of the updates at Kates Playground, Kate seemed to be getting in touch with her costume loving side. This time, Kate slips into the hottest little ballerina outfit and prances around outside. This outfit isn’t quite what you’d expect to see on those uptight ballerinas though. Kate’s white short skirt is sheer, letting you see flashes of her legs underneath. Her high heel ballerina shoes lace all the way up her luscious legs. To top it all off, she has a pair of sheer nylon stockings on. Yummy!
7. Gwyneth Paltrow -- Chris Martin

8. 1920 -- 1920'S
   [One] fad of the 1920's was the radio. People "tuned" in every day to listen to music, as jazz, sports and live events. A favorite for listening to jazz was "the king of jazz", Louie Armstrong. The latest fashion fad was the flapper, a fad for women. The movie was ... the latest thing. The start of 3-D movies was in the 1920's.
9. Madonna (Entertainer) -- Number
   Madonna's second album, the Niles Rodgers-produced Like a Virgin, was released at the end of 1984. The title track hit number one in December, staying at the top of the charts for six weeks; it was the start of a whirlwind year for the singer. During 1985, Madonna became an international celebrity, selling millions of records on the strength of her stylish, sexy videos and forceful personality. After "Material Girl" became a number two hit in March, Madonna began her first tour, supported by the Beastie Boys. "Crazy for You" became her second number one single in May. Desperately Seeking Susan was released in July, becoming a box office hit; it ... prompted a planned video release of A Certain Sacrifice, a low-budget erotic drama she filmed in 1979.
