Chubby Frogs as pets Chubby Frogs are now commonly sold in pet stores. Those considering chubby frog ownership should be aware that like most amphibians, Chubby Frogs cannot tolerate the chlorine found in standard city water. Pets must therefore be provided with treated or spring water. Also, frog owners need to consider that Chubby Frogs can be fairly uninteresting as it is quite an inanimate frog.
-Frogs have smooth skin, and long legs to help them leap. Toads have drier warty skin and short legs, and they move by crawling or hopping rather than by leaping. Technically, though, toads are just a type of frog.
Pet or animal picture Gray Tree Frogs are arboreal and nocturnal. Their calls are quite common in the norther United States and Canada. They can be quite loud. They will often come down to the ground from the trees in order to locate food. They search in vegetated areas for things such as plant lice, spiders, snails, and mites. Most often, Gray Tree Frogs are found high in trees.

Chubby Frog Chubby Frogs kept in captivity need planted aquariums with plenty of hiding spaces. Since the Chubby Frog is a terrestrial frog, substrate choices should consist of peat/soil mixes or potting soil topped of with sphagnum moss. A water bowl should be included as a water source. Also, the humidity should be kept high by misting the tank a couple times a day with dechlorinated water. Chubby frogs prefer temperatures of 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures may reach 65 degrees at night.
Gray Tree Frogs can be kept in vertically oriented terrariums with well-established plants or bamboo stands, although horizontal climbing opportunities are ... advisable. The lid should be quite secure as these frogs are good climbers. The terrarium should be maintained at about 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, and the nighttime temperature should be about 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Daily misting is advisable. A mixture of potting soil, playground sand, and cypress can be used as substrate. Gray Tree Frogs should be fed small insects like crickets, small grasshoppers, waxworms, butterworms, and superworms.
