The tree planting with Friends of Trees in Portland is the latest in a series of environmental initiatives that Esurance has supported in the Pacific Northwest. On November 10, Esurance sponsored Carbon Offset Day in Seattle, resulting in the planting of over 3,000 native plants and shrubs in a single day.
The Friends are volunteers who enhance library services through a variety of activities. Although the library is supported mainly by public funds, the Friends provide extra support that allows for more programs and special purchases.
Since 1978, Friends of the Kirkwood Public Library have assisted the Kirkwood Public Library by donating over $370,000 and thousands of volunteer hours. The Friends help the Library purchase equipment and provide programs and services not covered by the operating budget. Proceeds from memberships, contributions, the Book Fair, special events and Greentree Books Shop have enabled the Friends to fund:

Facing the Challenge of Other Faiths At least one of the two pregnancy storylines in 'Friends' was due to the real-world pregnancy of the actress, conceived in lawful wedlock with her actual spouse. (Actress Lisa Kudrow, who plays Phoebe, has stated publicly that she was a virgin on her wedding night.) The producers of the show had to do something to explain her obviously pregnant condition, so they took the situation and used it. The story of Phoebe and her surrogate pregnancy for her brother's children, as well as being played for laughs... raised serious issues about the whole idea of surrogate pregnancy. Rachel's baby was conceived in a more conventional manner, the result of a one-night stand with Ross and a failed contraceptive; but again, as well as being played for laughs, the storyline raised issues of single-parenthood in the modern world. Rachel, who entered the show as a spoilt, air-headed prom queen, has had to face up to the fact that her carefree days are well and truly over.
friends David Schwimmer catapulted to stardom when he was cast on the award-winning sitcom Friends. For ten years, he worked as a regular cast member and even served as the director of several episodes of the series. As the paleontologist Ross Geller, he was distinctly known for his nasal voice, nerdy intellect and abstract sense of humor. His love for dinosaurs and other scientific beliefs often led to conflict with Phoebe’s self-devised beliefs, and were usually a recurring joke throughout the series. Described by his parents as a “medical marvel,” he was generally favored by his parents over his younger sister Monica. As for his love life, he dated several women on the show and got divorced three times, starting off with Carol, Emily and then Rachel.

Friends in Nazareth, Israel. Friendships are often the most important relationships in the emotional life of the adolescent, and are often more intense than relationships later in life. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will ... engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that someone or something will not harm them.
