  1. The World Is Not Enough -- Michael Apted
When it comes to The World is Not Enough, the ideas and aspirations (the script was written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade) were fairly lofty, and the directing choice (Michael Apted of Gorky Park fame) was interesting. In this installment, Pierce Brosnan reprises his role as 007, this time following the death of a wealthy English businessman whose daughter (played by Sophie Marceau, Braveheart) was kidnapped and held for ransom. How does Renard play into it? Well, he’s holding the daughter for ransom, part of a larger plot to control the world’s oil supply.
  2. The World Is Not Enough -- Le Chiffre
"The World Is Not Enough" leaked online on October 1, 1999. A low-quality mp3 file was circulated through file-sharing networks, after being ripped from a Los Angeles radio station broadcast. It quickly became apparent that the leak was not the actual theme tune, but a remix produced by the band themselves.[30] The actual album version of the song was sent to US AAA, Alternative, Modern Adult and Modern Rock radio stations from October 4, 1999, although the song did not officially debut on radio stations until October 11, 1999.[31] The song failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart... it placed on the U.S. ARC Weekly Top 40, a chart unassociated with Billboard. The song peaked at #31 at the end of a three-week chart run.[32]
  3. Friends -- American Friends
Throughout its wildly successful run on NBC's "must-see TV" line-up, Friends won several Emmys, People's Choice, Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globe and American Comedy awards. In addition, fans have collected the DVD sets in record numbers making Friends the #1 TV on DVD franchise.
  4. Koyuki -- Friends
Koyuki and Dororo are both partners and good friends, since Koyuki's reason to come to Tokyo was to help Dororo reunite with his comrades, only to find that Dororo was most forgotten by the platoon, especially his childhood friend, Keroro. Koyuki first met Dororo (Zeroro back then) while still living in her ninja village, and there, Dororo learned the beauty of Earth and its nature, explaining his reluctant attitude towards the more Earth-threatening plans of Keroro. They live together in Koyuki's cottage in the forest, and they have a very strong sibling relationship, and obviously gets along with each other more than Natsumi and the other platoon members.
  5. Friends -- Series
The tree planting with Friends of Trees in Portland is the latest in a series of environmental initiatives that Esurance has supported in the Pacific Northwest. On November 10, Esurance sponsored Carbon Offset Day in Seattle, resulting in the planting of over 3,000 native plants and shrubs in a single day.
  6. Facebook -- Friends
Despite the need to communicate, Facebook may not be the perfect networking tool for many non-students just yet. At this point, much of the grammar of the site (as well as much of the first wave of applications) are still tilted toward student life. David Rodnitzky, 35, a San Francisco marketing executive, was having a fine time on Facebook until he installed a widget called "My Questions." Unbeknownst to him, it sent out a query to people on his friend list, specifically: "Do you kiss on the first date?" "Here I was, asking some of my company's venture capitalists, along with some of my guy friends, if they kiss on the first date," says Rodnitzky. "Probably not the best way to interact." Nor is it clear whether grown-ups embrace the new SuperPoke third-party application: instead of a mere poke (the equivalent of saying "hey you" online) you can bite, slap, bump, spank, lick, grope or head-butt friends, acquaintances and, uh, business colleagues.
  7. Mario Party Advance -- Friends
If you’re looking for that ‘at home’ party feel, Mario Party Advance for the Gameboy Advance (GBA) will probably take some getting used too. To play with one of your friends you will require a GBA to GBA connection cable (the more friends, the more cables you'll need), making it all but impossible to duplicate the Gamecube experience.
  8. William Howard Taft -- Friends
Mr. Taft often said himself that he felt a lack of that character of political training which would have thrown him into closer contact with the masses of the people. He had never been district leader, Alderman, Mayor or legislator. His training had been judicial and his circle of contact small. In the Philippines he had come in contact with the people there and exercised a wonderful influence for good over them. But he felt he did not know enough of his own people. When his extensive traveling was once criticized, Mr. Taft said to a friend:
  9. David Geffen -- Friends
In 2000 a biography that Geffen authorized, The Operator, was published. Geffen handpicked his biographer, Tom King, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, but midway through the writing process Geffen stopped cooperating, although he did allow the book to be published. The book tends to portray Geffen as a bully who was willing to sacrifice friends to achieve his enormous wealth.
  10. Frank Sinatra -- Friends
Sinatra often crossed paths -- and even played golf -- with some of the country's biggest names in organized crime: He counted mobsters Sam Giancana, Charles "Lucky" Luciany and Al Capone's cousin Joseph Fischetti among his friends. Although he told grand juries, a state gaming commission and courtroom juries that he had no deep ties to the Mafia, Sinatra's social life tantalized FBI investigators for decades. Ultimately, the bureau never found enough evidence to prosecute Sinatra. Those associations produced no criminal charges either, but were extensive enough o lead President John F. Kennedy to cool his relationship with Sinatra.
