D’Amato posted who he voted for the 2008 class of the World Golf Hall of Fame on his blog- Fred Couples was among the three that he voted for. voted for Lanny Wadkins and Davis Love III. Ballots are typically due by the first of March with results announced in April.

Fred Couples has become a familiar face to golf fans since he turned pro in 1980. Born in Seattle, Washington, Couples got his PGA Tour start in 1981. He is a favorite for many who live in the Pacific Northwest. Nicknamed "Boom Boom" for his length off the tee, Freddy has a total of 15 PGA victories to date. You might recognize him from a certain Bridgestone commercial. All together now, "Boom, boom, boom, boom."

In 1994, Fred Couples was named PGA Tour Player of the year, an honor which he ... received in 1991 and 1992. Then, in 1995, Couples recorded back-to-back victories on the PGA European Tour, becoming the first American to do so since Charles Coody in 1973. Couples also teamed with Davis Love III to win a record four consecutive World Cup of Golf titles from 1992 through 1995.
