All American Classics Fred "Boom Boom" Couples Features Fred Couples as He Wins The 1992 Masters In 1992 Fred Coupes won The Masters, not only from good playing, but ... because of the miracle on #12. His shot hit the green and spun back off the green down the hill to Rae's Creek. His ball stopped 4 inches from going into the water and Fred was able to chip onto the green and save his par and hang on to win his first major.
Fred is an avid gardener. Couples learned gardening from his grandfather, who was a groundskeeper at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Fred is currently dating Kathy Masters, and lives in Santa Barbara, California.
