Despite the relatively poor recent performances for England, Lampard is a player who must surely be destined for a bright future. As well as Jose Mourinho claiming that he is the best player in the world, both the legendary Brazilian Carlos Alberto and the even more legendary Dutchman Johann Cruyff have gone on record to say that he is one of the best midfielders in Europe.
