In December 2005, Foxy claimed she had been diagnosed with sudden hearing loss. The rare condition threatened to end her career, but a series of treatments improved her condition enough to resume recording material and appearing at Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt anniversary concert.

Houston called 911 around 3 a.m. after Brown collapsed, and accompanied the singer to Morristown, N.J., Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released. Brown refused to submit to blood or urine samples during the 90-minute visit. A spokesperson for the hospital would not reveal the exact condition for which Brown was treated, citing patient confidentiality.
While still a teenager, Brown won a talent contest in Park Slope, and was invited to rap on stage at a KRS-One concert. At the time, production team Trackmasters were working on LL Cool J's Mr. Smith album, the pair were in attendance that night and being impressed, they decided to let her rap over "I Shot Ya."

Foxy Brown In 4 short years, Foxy has moved from an aspiring teenager to an established rap star in the hip hop community. Her solo work is impressive, but her rolodex of contacts in the industry who would go to great lengths to work with her speaks volumes about her accomplishments, and her potential.
