Logo used from 1999 to present, sometimes accompanied by searchlights, a typical FOX element. Fox Sports is a division of the Fox Broadcasting Company (part of News Corporation). It was formed in 1994 with Fox's acquisition of broadcast rights to National Football League games. Other properties have included the National Hockey League (1994–1999), Major League Baseball (1996–present), World League Football (later NFL Europe, then NFL Europa, now defunct) (1997–2005), college football's Cotton Bowl (1999–present), most of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS National Championship Game, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Sugar Bowl) (2007–present), and NASCAR (2001–present). ‎ FOX has become the exclusive home of the Daytona 500 after having alternated the event with NBC Sports throughout their first NASCAR contract. Also beginning in 2007 they will televise 4 Formula One races, including the United States Grand Prix and Canadian Grand Prix, plus two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races live. In addition, FOX covered the first 90 minutes of the 45th Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 27th.
FOX Sports Interactive Media and Cingular Wireless today announced the return of Virtual Crew Chief -- the pioneering wireless poll that allows race fans to give their opinions of key moments and decisions during the race by way of text messaging. But this year, there's extra incentive: each text message sent in response to a question during a NASCAR on FOX broadcast will be entered into a sweepstakes to win an all-expense paid trip to Daytona Beach. Included in the package is the opportunity to attend driving school at the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
(Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, FOX Sports.com) - It wasn't by accident that NASCAR zeroed in on the Nos. 9 and 17 cars of Kahne and Kenseth after Sunday's qualifying session for the Daytona 500 and disallowed the times of the two 2006 Chase competitors.
