For the year 2007, Fox News was the number one rated cable news program. It was down 1 percent in total daily viewers and down 3 percent in the 25-54 year old demographic. In comparison, CNN was up 1 percent and 3 percent respectively. Fox News finished 2007 as #6 rated overall cable network [30].

The "signature political news show" of the Fox News Channel, Special Report with Brit Hume, was alleged to have a strong bias in their choice of guests, overwhelmingly choosing "conservatives" over "non-conservatives" for interviews. The progressive media watchdog group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) claimed that in a study of a 19 week period from January 2001 to May 2001 the ratio of conservative guests to liberals was 50:6.[41]

Geraldo Rivera of Fox News keeps proving the ideological diversity of the FNC staff on his book tour attacking opponents of illegal immigration. On Tuesday night, he appeared on the Comedy Central show The Colbert Report, where liberal comic Stephen Colbert pretends to be a conservative, played heavily over the top for laughs. Rivera repeatedly punched away at what he called "right-wing talk show thugs." He was so enamored of the phrase that he inserted it strangely into Irish-hating episodes from 100 years ago, and into his 2005 defense of Michael Jackson against charges of child abuse. Once again, Fox News brings up the rear in the cable news-stakes. With an increase in total viewers of just 16% from February 2007 to February 2008, Fox trailed MSNBC (up 62%) and CNN (up 133%) by wide margins. CNN’s numbers may have been inflated by an unusually large audience for its debate telecast. But that would not account for the bulk of the disparity. Note that MSNBC’s increase occurred without any such special event programming.

Fox News correspondent and alleged harasser Rachel Marsden was escorted from the News Corp. building last year after parting ways with late-night show Red Eye. But now she has been allowed back on the premises to distract terrified American homeowners into staring at her outfit instead of thinking about what she's actually saying, which is that the free market is about to foreclose on their homes. Marsden wrote in to say she did a Fox Business News segment Friday on subprime mortgages, and that it was in the building from which she had once been banned. Also?
