The Four Corners National Monument is the only place in the United States where you can in four different states at the same time. Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. The monument is located in the desert on the Navajo Indian Reservation. There is a small visitor center, some Navajo arts and craft booths, picnic tables and portable toilets. There is a small fee charged per vehicle. This monument is only about two hours from Mesa Verde National Park and provides some unique photo opportunities.

Recurring segment profit for Gathering & Processing - West, which includes Four Corners, was $38.6 million in second-quarter 2007, compared with $34.6 million in 2006. The segment benefited from continued strong natural gas liquid (NGL) margins and lower operating costs. The lower operating costs were primarily due to $2.5 million lower net product imbalance losses in the second quarter. Gains and losses from product imbalances are an unpredictable component of operating costs. These benefits were partially offset by lower NGL sales volumes due to planned maintenance.

Founded in 1947, the Four Corners Gem & Mineral Club provides a great opportunity to learn about the earth sciences and the lapidary arts. The primary purpose of this organization is to collect and identify rocks, gems and minerals. With a fully equipped workshop, members can cut and polish their own specimens. The Four Corners Monument was originally surveyed and established by the US Government Surveyors and Astronomers in 1868 with the survey of Colorado's southern boundary. Surveys followed of New Mexico's west boundary and Utah's east boundary in 1878. The northern boundary of Arizona was surveyed in 1901. A small permanent marker was erected in 1912 where the boundaries of the four states intersected. The Monument was refurbished in 1992 with a bronze disk embedded in granite. Each of the state boundaries radiate from the disk and each state's seal rests within that state's boundary.
