Fortis: Fortis Watch
built 660 days ago
FORTIS became the world's first automatic wristwatches in series production, with the birth of the Harwood. These models are named for John Harwood, an inventor and infantryman from England who holds the patent for this watch technology and a partner of Walter Vogt, the original owner of FORTIS. The FORTIS factory has been based in Grenchen, Switzerland, since 1912.

In Latin, the word "fortis" refers to strength – an appropriate moniker for a watch collection that has faced some of the most rigorous testing in the world. For more than 95 years, FORTIS has been known for its production of well-made Swiss timepieces. Today's FORTIS automatic watches feature sporty designs, are constructed with robust materials, and functionality is given the highest priority.
