Ford Motor gave members of the Automotive Press Association a first glimpse of their hydrogen-powered shuutle bus. It's a vehicle they believe could be marketed to customers who need to move large groups of people, "In an an effiecent, environmentally friendly way," according to Dr.Gerhard Schmidt, VP for Research of Advanced Engineering. The vehicle seats up to 12 passengers and their luggage, inlcuding the driver with a range of 150 miles. It's powered by a modified 6.8 litre Triton V-10 and a 26-gallon equivalent 5,000 pound per square inch hydrogen fuel tank.Ford's Escape Hybrid, a gasoline full hybrid-electric vehicle is on sale now. The census at the People in Peril homeless shelter has fallen to the point that it is within its licensed capacity of 88 people for the first time in years. The number of people at the shelter at 701 Main St. on Tuesday was 87, and it dipped to 57 people on Labor Day weekend, according to James Castell, PIP client services manager.

Microsoft ... announced a road map for the adoption of the BPEL 2.0 standard in Windows Workflow Foundation to help drive industry interoperability and drive greater mainstream adoption of BPEL-enabled workflow applications. Microsoft will enable further integration between Windows Workflow Foundation and its BizTalk(R) Server product as part of the BizTalk Server 2006 R2 release, which will be generally available in the third quarter of 2007. The company also underscored upcoming advancements with Microsoft's Office Business Application strategy, made possible by new platform capabilities in the 2007 Microsoft Office system, to enable customers to realize the People-Ready value from business processes by allowing information workers to use the familiar Microsoft Office system and Microsoft Office SharePoint(R) Server 2007.
[E]ven as a term-of-art it has important drawbacks, not least of which is the fact that it was used for decades AS a term-of-art in a very snobby, elitist way. People who remember that and hated it will be predisposed to disagree with you when you use it... fairminded and egalitarian you actually are. And if you are a snobby elitist...well, let's just say it lacks subtlety.
