Food Network: Emeril Lagasse
built 177 days ago
On December 11, mere weeks before the country plunges again into culinary excess, the Food Network will pull the plug on one of its longest-running cooking shows. "Emeril Live!" is going off the air.

The Food Network is reinforcing its re-branding effort through TV spots, online materials, outdoor signage and print ads. Print ads feature celebrity chefs, including Emeril Lagasse, Rachael Ray, Alton Brown and Bobby Flay.
Food Network delivers an outstanding slate of specials. Most popular is "Cook with Your Kids" responding to the recent studies linking adolescent obesity with decreased "family time." Hosted by Emeril Lagasse, this week-long, network-wide initiative encouraged family bonding and can even improve a child's developmental skills.
Lagasse helped put Food Network on the map, and the show made him a star. So, yes, it's the end of a culinary TV era that has lasted more than 10 years. Lagasse opened the door for TV chefs to gain greater fame.
"We are so excited about the launch of our Kidz Kitchen seminars," says Lee Brian Schrager, founder and director of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. "After receiving countless requests from parents to bring their children to see their favorite Food Network hosts in action, we are delighted to now offer them the opportunity at Kidz Kitchen. This could very well be the breaking ground for the next Emeril Lagasse or Rachael Ray." Another potential pay-off of encouraging children to cook: Parents just might wind up with some extra help in the kitchen.

December 11th will be the last day for the hit Food Network series Emeril Live. But fear not fans of Emeril Legasse, as the show will continue on the network in the form of reruns.
