- Foo Fighters
Born out of a stockpile of songs written by Dave Grohl while drumming for Nirvana, Foo Fighters were originally intended to be Grohl’s solo project. Since officially forming in 1995 the band has had five UK top-ten album hits, including 2002’s ‘One By One’ which entered at number one. You may ... recognize Grohl as the devil in Tenacious D’s video to ‘Tribute’. - Foo Fighters -- Dave Grohl
For years now, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has half-jokingly vowed that he was going to release a balls-out death-metal record. He reiterated that threat last year while touring for the quiet half of the 2005 double album In Your Honor. So it's surprising that Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is Foo Fighters' most restrained album yet. It might even be called easy listening. - Foo Fighters -- Bands
Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco and Foo Fighters are three rock bands that you always hear about. However, there are some great musicians that are putting out solid songs but aren't getting as much attention. Take a look at the artists listed below and vote on who you think is rock's best kept secret. Hopefully all of these artists will have their time in the spotlight. - Nirvana (Band) -- Foo Fighters
While Nirvana came to a sudden conclusion following their final show in Munich, the remaining members of the band (including Pat Smear) offered a bittersweet farewell to the band's fans. At the end of the Foo Fighters' 1997 performance at the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle, Grohl suddenly jumped behind the drum kit, with Novoselic wandering onstage with bass guitar in hand. The trio (Grohl, Novoselic, and Smear) serenaded the enthusiastic crowd with loose covers of Prince's "Purple Rain" and Led Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown". The short performance served as a lighthearted (and loud) nod to Seattle and all who supported Nirvana during its short, tumultuous, and unforgettable run. - The Smashing Pumpkins -- Concerts
The Smashing Pumpkins will headline the KROQ LA Invasion concert on September 15th. But other stellar acts on the bill for the single day event include Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, Chris Cornell, Cypress Hill and Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party. The concert will take place at the Home Depot Center at Cal State Dominguez Hills and tickets for the event go on sale this Saturday August 18th. Tickets are $35, $65 and $85. - Celine Dion -- Tickets

Kula Shaker are an English multi-platinum selling psychedelic rock band who came to prominence during the Britpop era. After releasing two albums they split in September 1999 but officially reformed in 2004 for sessions which led to plans for a full live and album-release comeback. Their reformation was not widely publicised until the beginning of 2006. Their third album, Strangefolk, was released in 2007. - Fool for Love -- Plays
Fool for Love is a one-act play about 70 minutes long, set in some unknown run-down Motel room in America. I don’t have a link to a synopsis so you’ll just have to google it. Starring alongside Juliette Lewis was Martin Henderson, who I haven’t seen before, and Joe Duttine, who looked to me like the evil chemist from Desperate Housewives from a distance, but turned out to be someone I ... haven’t seen before. I won’t comment too much on the general work, but I must admit I felt that Martin Henderson’s acting was a bit wooden (sorry Martin, maybe you were having a bad day) and the voice wasn’t quite filling the space as well as it should (did you do your vocal warm up properly, eh lad? tsk.) - I’m pretty sure the people in the upper circle would not be able to hear him without seriously straining at times. Joe Duttine did a nice job of being the appropriately timid 3rd party in the scene. And of course Juliette Lewis was great, although I’m not sure she was really “feeling” the part this time round. - Ozzy Osbourne -- Rob Zombie
Ozzy Osbourne returned to Madison Square Garden on December 22, 2008 for his first show at the arena in 23 years. Check out The Monitor's Fan Cam and meet the fans, both seasoned Ozzy veterans and first-timers, who came out in force to see the rock legend and his tourmate, Rob Zombie. - The Rock -- Led Zeppelin
Pearl Jam, after displacing Nirvana, last year's winner, as the Greatest Rock Group, has regained the lead from Led Zeppelin. Nirvana, has dropped to 6th. Led Zeppelin and Evanescence are 2nd and 3rd respectively.
