Upon obtaining the appropriate licences, the Florence Wave Park project will be located between one and five kilometres from the Oregon shoreline. Once complete, the proposed 'wave park' will deploy at least 10 floating Oceanlinx wave energy devices installed in an optimized array, each moored and anchored to the seabed. Oceanlinx expects the project to have an initial installed peak capacity of 15 MW, sufficient to supply power to as many as 15,000 local homes, with a scale-up potential to 100 MW.

A young Florence Nightingale Florence and her compatriots began by thoroughly cleaning the hospital and equipment and reorganizing patient care. However, during her time at Scutari, the death rate did not drop; on the contrary, it began to rise. The death count would be highest of all other hospitals in the region. During her first winter at Scutari, 4077 soldiers died there. Ten times more soldiers died from illnesses such as typhus, typhoid, cholera and dysentery than from battle wounds. Conditions at the temporary barracks hospital were so fatal to the patients because of overcrowding and the hospital's defective sewers and lack of ventilation.
Florence began as a settlement established by Julius Caesar in 59 BC for his veteran soldiers. It was named Florentia (Flourishing) and built in the style of an army camp with the main streets, the cardo and the decumanus, intersecting at the present Piazza della Repubblica. Situated at the Via Cassia, the main route between Rome and the North, and within the fertile valley of the Arno, the settlement quickly became an important commercial center. Emperor Diocletian made Florentia capital of the province of Tuscia in the 3rd century AD.

The best-known site and crowning architectural jewel of Florence is the domed cathedral of the city, Santa Maria del Fiore, known as The Duomo. The magnificent dome was built by Filippo Brunelleschi. The nearby Campanile tower (partly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery buildings are ... highlights. Both the dome itself and the campanile are open to tourists and offer excellent views.

Electric Wheels Inc...Your BEST source for electric vehicles! "We believe that the proposed Florence Wave Park aligns with the Governor's strategy," said Tom Engelsman, Chief Executive Officer of Oceanlinx. "Wave energy is inexhaustible and is the most consistent of the intermittent renewable energy sources available. Furthermore, renewable energies such as wave power are indigenous and non-depleting sources of supply which is positive for energy security.
