Flintstones will beat the crap out of the jetsons. Why? because they parodied the sopranos. Anyone who parodies the mob and lives to tell about it has gotta be Mr. T level tough. Fred ... is a psycho who has schizophrenia, everytime he has a blow to the head he changes his persona. therefore he'll change his plan of attack everytime george gets a lucky shot in and will confuse him by being a romantic gentleman one moment, the bastard son of Al Pachino and Robert DeNiro the next.

Most recently, The Flintstones have made an appearance in a GEICO auto insurance commercial. It is revealed that the money Fred Flintstone saved by using GEICO was what he used to buy Wilma her omnipresent necklace.

Knowing the Flintstones intimately is part of being American. One can easily imagine U.S. troops in any modern conflict determining the national identity of a suspected spy by asking the name of Fred’s pet dinosaur. Actually, that’s too easy; better to ask the name of the Rubbles' pet (that’s "Hoppy" for all you fringe-dwelling national security risks).

Along with the spin-offs & movies, The flintstones has ... done well in the food market. Post cereal created Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles, which use Fred and Barney. Barney always steals Fred\'s cereal and Fred chases him. Also Bayer created the Flinstones Chewable Vitamins.

In Red Dwarf, a popular BBC Sci-Fi Comedy, The Cat and Lister are seen having discussion after having just watched the Flintstones, relating to the physical attractiveness of Wilma and Betty. The Cat: "Well I would go with Betty, but I’d be thinking of Wilma." Lister: "We’re crazy!" (pause) "She’ll never leave Fred and we know it!"
