Flavia Pennetta won the Cachantun Cup in Vina del Mar, Chile, on Sunday when opponent Klara Zakopalova twisted her ankle and retired trailing 4-6, 4-5, 0-15. "It always feels better to play the last point and have the sensation of winning, but this happens," Pennetta said.

The loss was a bit of a shock for Pennetta, who won this tournament in 2005 and was the runner-up 2006. In winning at Vina del Mar, the 25-year-old won every set of her five matches and went from 33rd to 30th in the world with the win.
