1. Nasser -- Henry Ford
   Nasser's greatest challenge came in 2000 when Ford's flag-ship four-wheel-drive sport utility vehicle, the Explorer, was involved in numerous rollover accidents. Two hundred deaths were ultimately linked to the Firestone Wilderness AT tires that were standard issue on the vehicle. Firestone recalled 6.5 million tires, and Ford committed itself to replace millions more. Nasser defended the integrity of Ford, even appearing in television commercials to protect the long-term corporate reputation of the company and its employees. In the short term, the company reported its first consecutive quarterly losses in nearly a decade.

   Riding an adaptation of the rugged F-150 pickup frame, these (Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer) are old-school SUVs with moderate off-road abilities, and better-than-average towing, particularly with the optional V-8 engine and six-speed transmission. The cabins are quiet, and the ride is more civilized than one might expect.

   Tires from Firestone and Ford Explorer deaths are linked according to Ford Explorer death statistics. Lawsuits have been filed. Firestone has recalled over 14 million ATX, ATX II and Wilderness AT tires after it was revealed that these tires had a serious manufacturing defect. The tires manufactured at one specific plant were found to have a propensity for tread separation. These tire models were originally equipped on various Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru vehicles. The Ford Explorer, which came standard with Firestone tires, was implicated in a number of reports that detailed its disproportionate representation in fatal SUV rollover statistics.

8. Goodyear Tires
   By 1974, Goodyear Tires had built plants and headquarters in 34 countries. Although its history in the 1980s is marred by damaging takeover attempts, restructuring, employee lay offs and even strikes, Goodyear continued to expand and grow, participating actively in new markets.
9. Decatur
   The first blacksmith in Decatur was George Irwin, and the first shopkeeper, John Chase. The first physician was Dr. Thomas Whitacre. The first postmaster was Robert Percival, appointed in 1857. Another early settler was the Honorable Frank Welch who located in Decatur in 1857. He was later elected to Congress from Nebraska. The history of Decatur would not be complete without mentioning Hamilton and Fontenelle.
10. Tony Kanaan
    Tony Kanaan was a racing fan as a boy in Brazil and even participated in some karting, but didn't consider it to be a full-time job because he had his education to attend to. However, his father, a factory owner, died when Tony was a teenager and his uncle stole money from the family business. To provide for his family, Tony Kanaan moved to Italy in hopes of advancing his race career. Despite having no money to fund his rides and often having to live in the race shop, he did well on the race track, winning races, including the 1994 Italian Formula Alfa-Boxer Championship. These trying times helped strengthen Tony's sense of hmor and today Tony is considered one of the nocest, funniest guys in racing. For the 1996 season, despite an offer of a factory-backed ride from Audi in touring cars in Italy, Kanaan went to thw United States after being quickest in a test for the Tasman team in the Indy Lights series.
