Fire Emblem Logo Graphically, Fire Emblem is of two worlds. The overhead map, while containing lush backgrounds, is low on detail. As well, the look of the units on this map is somewhat ugly, and at first only serviceable. While by no means unpleasant, the look of this interface is far from impressive, and the large, colourful sprites used during animated combat do little to raise the look of in-game battle. However, character dialogue is expressed with large, beautiful art of every character, standing against a still background with anywhere from one to four characters on the screen. The look of it is almost like a puppet show, with stationary characters disappearing and reappearing to signify movement.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones The latest Fire Emblem is set in Magi Varl as the land breaks out into war when the kingdom of Grad sets out to defeat the remainder of its territory, starting with the kindom of Lunes. While the Lunes are overmatched, their armies retreat until the nation's capital falls, but Prince Ephraim and Princess Eirik manage to survive and escape the attacks. Their father King Faad remains at the scene of the battle for a last stand and the two heirs begin the game as the main characters fighting to take back their fallen kingdom.

The Fire Emblem series has had a long and lustrous reign, with titles spanning the Famicom, the Super Famicom and the GBA. the United States has only heard of this wonderful strategy series through games like Super Smash Brothers, in which two characters from the Fire Emblem series were hidden, or from importers who could either read the Japanese text or who had a translated walkthrough. Either way, since 1990, Fire Emblem has had no true North American presence, which is common for the time period in which it was released. Japanese strategy RPGs like Langrisser attempted to make its way to the US, under the name Warsong on the Sega Genesis. While the title managed to fill a niche, it never achieved the same popularity of its Japanese counterparts and thusly fell to the wayside. Sega's Shining Force series managed to attract a stronger strategy RPG audience, but it wasn't until games like Final Fantasy Tactics came out that these games finally got their due.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Don't let Super Mario Galaxy force you to miss Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn – especially if you have a fond appreciation of strategy games. Nintendo keeps its focus on sharp tactical gameplay, as you use techniques and team creation to fight your enemies up close and from afar. It satisfies, even if its basic set-up doesn't make specific use of the Wii. The graphics are fantastic and the soundtrack, from Yuka Tsujiyoko, is a must-listen. This series has never burned brighter.

fire emblem Fire Emblem races through over a dozen of locales filled with stores and dozens of locations that will give you certain rewards. For example, visiting a nearby house on a map will engage a conversation between your character and the resident. Sometimes all you get is more light on the story, but other times you get new weapons or items that can’t be found elsewhere. Stores and armories, like houses, can be visited to find weapons and items. However in these establishments you must pay for the items you desire. Understandingly, the more expensive items are ... the better items.
Graphically, Fire Emblem seems a little dated. Fire Emblem: Sword of Fire is actually the seventh game in the series and the uses the same engine from the sixth game. Since the game didn't receive any graphical overhaul other games like Sword of Mana and the recent Final Fantasy Tactics overshadow this game. Still the attack effects and spell effects are cool. The backgrounds are OK looking, but the overworld map looks like a first generation GBA game. Music wise the game has a wider selection of tunes compared to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, which is important since you'll be playing this game for a long time.
