Fiona Shaw. Born on the 10th July 1958 in County Cork, Ireland, Fiona Shaw is one of the most established stage actresses on the UK scene. Growing up there was no professional theatre in Cork, but she still did a lot of performing. "A lot of Irish people perform. They perform in drawing rooms. They sing songs and they play piano." She went on to study at RADA and after graduating became a fixture with the Royal Shakespeare Company and London's National Theatre.
Fiona Shaw has been practising yoga since 1992 and started learning Shadow Yoga with Karen Watson in 2001. She has completed a 3 year teacher training course with Islington Yoga and has been teaching at Islington Yoga since May 2005. She continues to practice and learn at islington Yoga and ... studies regularly with Zhander Remete, the founder of Shadow Yoga
Fiona Shaw has a loving husband, a dream cottage in Yorkshire, and has just given birth to her second child. Ten days later she is hospitalized in a psychiatric unit for severe postnatal depression. In this powerful memoir she describes how the "Baby Blues" suddenly developed into something much more serious, and recalls the months of despair which nearly destroyed her. She eventually emerged from the nightmare and produced this startling testimony and regained control of her life and triumphed over the past.

Fiona Shaw has honorary doctorates from the National University of Ireland and Open University. She was awarded an Officier des Arts et Lettres in France in 2000 and an honorary CBE in the 2001 New Years Honours.
Fiona Shaw Fiona Shaw, Aunt Petunia in the "Harry Potter" movies, will be state side in March. Ms. Shaw will be appearing in "Readings" at the Alexander Kasser Theater in Montclair, New Jersey. Tickets are currently on sale and the performance runs from March 8 through the 18th.
