  2. Final Fantasy -- Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI (ファイナルファンタジーVI Fainaru Fantajī VI) is the sixth installment in the Final Fantasy series, first released in 1994 on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was directed by Yoshinori Kitase and Hiroyuki Ito, who took over from series creator and producer Hironobu Sakaguchi, director of the five previous installments of the franchise. Long-time series contributor Nobuo Uematsu composed the musical score, while Yoshitaka Amano contributed to the image design.
  3. Final Fantasy Adventure -- Final Fantasy Vii
In August 1995, Square showed an interactive SGI technical demonstration of Final Fantasy for the next generation. Articles in GameFan and Nintendo Power led fans to believe that the demo was of a new Final Fantasy title for the Nintendo 64 video game console. However, 1997 saw the release of Final Fantasy VII for the Sony PlayStation and not the Nintendo 64 as many had originally anticipated. This was due to a dispute with Nintendo over its use of faster and more expensive cartridges, as opposed to the slower, cheaper, and much higher capacity compact discs used on rival systems. Final Fantasy VII introduced 3-dimensional graphics with fully pre-rendered backgrounds. It was because of this switch to 3D that a CD-ROM format was chosen over a cartridge format.
  4. Final Fantasy Advent Children -- Final Fantasy Vii
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, the second CG movie from Square Soft, will take place two years after the original PlayStation Final Fantasy VII game. The world looks to be peaceful, having avoided destruction, but inhabitants have begun suffering a new physical malaise called Seikon-Shoukougun.
  5. Final Fantasy Legend -- Characters
FF7 was released in September of 1997 for the Playstation, marking the beginning of the 3D Final Fantasy era. FF8 came out two years later. There has been a trend in the Final Fantasy series towards more realistic-looking characters and futuristic themes; ... Final Fantasy 9 goes back (somewhat) to the old ways - Yoshitaka Amano is doing art again, and the characters are young and cartoony.. but still 3-D.
  6. Final Fantasy Adventure
Like Final Fantasy Adventure, these are re-branded games from another series. This time the Makai Toushi SaGa games were victim. However all three of these games are amazing. Sure they are clunky and have problems with slowdown, but they are excellent titles. If you are a fan of 2D RPGs, and happen to have a Gameboy, GBA, or a suitable emulator, you may want to look into them, especially part III. The caliber of game that they accomplished with what they had to work with is astonishing.

  9. Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X is the most beautiful game Squaresoft has produced. Of course, that's expected—it's their first role-playing game for the powerful PlayStation 2. Nevertheless, the game exudes a lush ambiance that at times rivals Square's cinematic movie masterpiece, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Sparkling water falls over the buildings of Zarnakand, swords flash in battle, and each character moves with surreally lifelike animation. It's an optical treat that even the most jaded gamer will love.
  10. Final Fantasy Adventure -- Stories
The story is always the driving force behind any Final Fantasy adventure. You play as Tidus, a young sports hero living in Zanarkand. With his pretty-boy good looks and blonde locks he is the David Beckham of blitzball, a sort of underwater rugby/basketball hybrid. The adventure begins on the night of the Zanarkand blitzball championship match. As Tidus wows the crowds with his nifty swimming and fancy footwork, a strange vortex starts to form over Zanarkand.
