Final Fantasy Xi: Series
built 614 days ago
Final Fantasy XI has an almost entirely player-based economy with a heavy reliance on "Auction Houses" in each of the major cities of Vana'diel. The only monsters in the game that drop any in-game currency known as gil when defeated are the Beastmen, humanoids which fight against player characters. However, Beastmen drop very small amounts of gil, meaning that unlike other games in the Final Fantasy series, it is very difficult to make much money merely by slaughtering monsters. Various items used in crafting, as well as sometimes extremely rare items, may drop off the monsters that are defeated. Although the game economy is mostly in the hands of the players, there are certain economic controls in place. Money may go to a non-player character (NPC), as when players purchase items from NPC merchants or rent certain forms of transportation.
The Final Fantasy series makes its debut on Microsoft console in MMORPG form, complete with Xbox Live support. The Xbox 360 version contains all the expansion packs, up to the latest Treasures of Aht Urhgan.

Final Fantasy X was released on the Playstation 2 in 2001. The plot is set in Spira and centers on a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a rampaging force known as "Sin". Final Fantasy X introduced fully three-dimensional areas and voice acting to the series, and it was the first to spawn a direct sequel (Final Fantasy X-2).
Few titles epitomize the very essence of multiplayer camaraderie like the FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES(R) series. Released in 2004 as an innovative title that took advantage of the Nintendo GameCube(TM)-to-Game Boy(R) Advance connectivity, FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES bred an entirely new gameplay experience that expanded the horizons of conventional RPG gaming. Primed for a release on the Nintendo DS, FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: Ring of Fates(TM) is poised to continue this tradition by providing fans with two distinctly unique games: a fully fleshed single-player RPG experience and an addictive multiplayer element for up to four players.
