System-wise, Nomura and Company envision battles reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children's battle scenes. To this end, the development team plans to create huge and dynamic maps with extreme height differences. In these environments the protagonist can use his weapon to effectively dispose of his foes. After throwing this extraordinary piece of equipment somewhere, the user can instantly teleport to that exact location. This interesting maneuver can't be performed indefinitely, though.

The entirely-CG trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII began with a statement describing an isolated nation protected by kings, which apparently, is the last country in the world trying to protect itself from invading heretics. The camera slowly zoomed in on a man sitting (or perhaps, slumping) on a throne, apparently dejected about events around him. Suddenly the man stands up, and walking outside of his throne room, opens the door to what appears to be a large courtyard outside filled with armed soldiers -- bodies are strewn about the stairs.

"This month's edition of Official Playstation Magazine has a small follow-up to the interview they had last issue with the director of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core; Hajime Tabata. Quite a lot of the questions actually revolved around the Final Fantasy VII franchise though, rather than Crisis Core itself.
