Final Fantasy Versus Xiii: Games
built 286 days ago
Newly dubbed Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the game will feature a unique combat system that is being headed by Toshiro Tsuchida, who has worked on such games as Final Fantasy X and the Front Mission series. According to the interview, the new system plans to merge elements from Kingdom Hearts with those from Dirge of Cerberus. Particularly intriguing is the fact that a character's point-of-view will change in accordance to the weapon they have equipped. For instance, a gun would initiate a first-person viewpoint, whereas using a sword will result in a third-person view.

The main difference between Final Fantasy Versus XIII and its cousin Final Fantasy XIII is the emphasis of action. The differences are apparently not limited to the battle system, with Nomura wanting to do certain things in the game which he couldn't do in a numbered Final Fantasy installment.

Even though an M might allow for more creative freedom, keep in mind the modern Final Fantasy's most rabid fans are often below age 17, so they'd be cutting out a large portion of their moneymakers. In addition, how often do you see Japanese games coming out here that are rated M with their current state of self-censorship? They're becoming fewer every year.
