The "easy type" was brought over to the U.S. as Final Fantasy II for the Super Nintendo. It was then re-released as a stand-alone game in Japan for the Playstation. It ... made an appearance as part of Final Fantasy Collection in Japan, which included FF4, 5, and 6 for the Playstation. Sometime between all this, FF4 was re-released for the Wonderswan Color as a stand-alone game; unlike the FF1 and FF2 WSC re-releases, FF4 did not have a limited-edition box set.

Square-Enix of Europe official announced it's plans to bring Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core over to Europe for Final Fantasy fans. Crisis Core is one of the titles in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII and plays on the Sony Playstation Portable. While no official release date has been set, Square-Enix has said it hopes to release it in the Spring of 2008.

Final Fantasy II is an exercise in tedium. There are no 'levels' in the traditional RPG sense; you gain statistics such as strength and MP by utilizing skills which "flex" those stats. If you want to boost your strength, you should attack lots; if you want to boost your HP, you need to lose a lot of health.

En Amérique du Nord, la série Final Fantasy Legend regroupe les trois premiers épisodes d'une plus grande série appelée SaGa. La série n'a aucun lien scénaristique ou thématique avec Final Fantasy, mais les trois jeux ont néanmoins été publiés en Amérique du Nord sous ce nom.

It was then re-released as "Final Fantasy IV Advance" for the Game Boy Advance in 2005. Japan ... had a limited-edition Game Boy Micro that had FF4 art on the faceplate and included the FF4A game. It is scheduled to be re-released for the Nintendo DS with completely new character designs and a new theme song.

Le projet Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII regroupe, en plus de Final Fantasy XIII, deux titres dérivés. Les trois jeux se déroulent dans des mondes différents, mais ont néanmoins pour base commune une « mythologie » centrée sur une version particulière des cristaux de la série Final Fantasy.
