Final Fantasy Adventure

Final Fantasy XIII Like Final Fantasy Adventure, these are re-branded games from another series. This time the Makai Toushi SaGa games were victim. However all three of these games are amazing. Sure they are clunky and have problems with slowdown, but they are excellent titles. If you are a fan of 2D RPGs, and happen to have a Gameboy, GBA, or a suitable emulator, you may want to look into them, especially part III. The caliber of game that they accomplished with what they had to work with is astonishing.

Let's face it, any game for the original 4-color Gameboy isn't going to win any awards for its graphics, yet Final Fantasy Adventure still manages to paint a world rich in fantasy despite the limitations of the hardware. For those who need a comparison, this game looks (and even plays) very much like Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Your super-deformed character moves from one screen to the next; Be it traversing a forest, trudging through a snowy field, scaling a rocky mountain or descending the dark depths of a dungeon, you'll find plenty of similarities (and obviously variety) between this and Nintendo's A-List franchise. And if you can overlook the Gameboy's archaic visuals, you might find yourself just a little surprised by how much Square managed to squeeze out of the portable's graphics processor.
Final Fantasy Adventure's gameplay is dynamic in nature. Instead of battling enemies for rounds at a time, you run around hitting them in real time. The controls are responsive enough that you won't die unnecessarily, but they are sometimes a bit loose. The dungeons are created as puzzles to be solved, making them more challenging than simple linear romps.

The Final Fantasy adventure continues. Locke has rescued Terra from the mines of Narshe. With Terra still not knowing exactly who she is or understanding her connection to the Empire, you head for sanctuary at the Castle of Figaro.

The Final Fantasy universe is, like so many other things, soon to be a major motion picture. A fully computer-generated feature film, called "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within", is due out July 13, 2001.

Anyway, this thread is going to be flooded with Final Fantasy whores and lots of geek wars. Beware for brain damaging comments about FFVII being so awesome, and FFX being even awesomer because, obviously, it has graphics. (and end up forgetting the whole point of the thread).
