Friends of the Fighting 69th was formed in October 2004 to raise awareness of the Fighting 69th's deployment to Iraq and to provide financial support to soldiers and their families during that difficult time overseas. The charity administers trust funds for the 16 surviving children of the nineteen soldiers from the unit who where killed in action in Iraq. For more information, please visit www.69thfriends.org.

Ultimate Fighting tickets have become a big part of the total fight tickets market in America. Ultimate fighting originated in 1993 as a "no holds barred" tournament to find the world's greatest fighter, and for a long time it was largely underground, on Pay-Per-View, and known only to the sport's die-hard enthusiasts. Now, it has become on of sport entertainment's biggest spectacles, and TV shows and cable broadcasts are common to UFC.

Offensively, the Fighting-type is very useful. It hits 5 different types for Super Effective damage, more than any other type in the game. It deals super effective damage to Rock and Steel, types which generally have high Defense, and is the only type super effective against Normal. It is ... one of the two types super effective against Dark. This is slightly balanced out by the fact that Ghosts are immune to Fighting attacks without the aide of Foresight/Odor Sleuth or the Scrappy ability.

Defensively, the Fighting-type is not strong. Most Fighting types tend to have only average to below average defensive stats. Its resistance to Rock is its only useful resistance. Weaknesses to Flying and Psychic make Fighting-types vulnerable to many sweepers.
