Fibroids: Bleeding
built 635 days ago
Fibroids shrink as more time after menopause passes. They may become calcified and it is not unusual to have an incidental finding on xray or ultrasound in the decade of the 70's and 80's show round calcified areas in the region of the uterus.

It is not uncommon for fibroids to cause an increase in the amount of menstrual bleeding. There are a number of theories as to why this happens. At the time of the menstrual period, when the uterine lining is shed, the inside of the uterus is raw and bleeding. The uterus is a muscle and has the unique ability to contract and squeeze the bleeding vessels of the uterus. Much like stepping on a hose, this prevents any more blood from being lost. Now imagine the fibroids as marbles within the uterine wall.
Flower In Hand According to Ayurveda, this process is at the basis of fibroids and endometriosis. Chronic toxin accumulation in the reproductive tissue irritates the tissues into responses that result in the slow accumulation of excess tissue and fibroids. Without the toxin accumulation there would not be so much excess tissue formation in these areas. It is vital to stop the processes causing toxins to accumulate and improve circulation and eliminative function to these areas so they may purify and heal themselves.

Fibroids don't need to be treated if they cause no symptoms, or only mild symptoms, and if the diagnosis is certain. A repeat ultrasound scan may be carried out to ensure that the fibroids are not growing too rapidly.

The IR then directs the catheter to the site of the fibroids and introduces Embosphere® Microsphere that permanently block the tiny vessels that deliver blood (and oxygen) to the fibroids. This causes the fibroids to stop growing and start shrinking, all the while keeping the uterus intact.
